Governance
Built for accountability, not profit.
Aspire SEND CIC exists to benefit young people with SEND — our legal structure is designed to keep it that way.
How we're structured
Accountable by design.
Community Interest Company
Aspire SEND CIC is a Community Interest Company limited by guarantee — a legal structure for social enterprises that exist to benefit the community, not private shareholders.
Asset lock
As a CIC, our assets are locked for community benefit. They cannot be distributed as profit and must be used to further our mission, even if the organisation were to close.
Regulatory oversight
We're regulated by the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies and file annual accounts and a community interest report with Companies House.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding young people is central to how we work. Our safeguarding policy governs how we recruit, train and support everyone working with the young people we serve.
How we work
Four strategic pillars guide every decision.
Set out in our Governance & Operations Handbook, these pillars shape our services, our partnerships and how we grow.
People first
Putting the young person at the centre of everything we do — strengths-based support and consistent, compassionate relationships.
Community collaboration
Building strong partnerships with Family Hubs, schools, colleges and statutory partners that complement rather than duplicate existing services.
Sustainable growth
Diversifying income across grants, private fees and contracts, and reinvesting any surplus into services rather than distributing it as profit.
Evidence and impact
Collecting outcomes data from every young person we support, and using that evidence to report on and continuously improve our services.
Keeping people safe
Safeguarding and data protection.
